ABOUT PINK PARK CITY
When: Now until March 27, 2021
Where: Wherever you are!
Pink Park City 2021 - It's about the people.
Welcome to Pink Park City 2021 – a virtual giving campaign to conquer all cancers! Even though we cannot come together on the mountain this year, the reason for Pink Park City remains the same- to raise funds for lifesaving research and eradicate cancer from the face of this earth. And we know that a dollar raised virtually is the same as a dollar raised in person. Each dollar makes the same impact in advancing lifesaving research.
You give hope to people facing a cancer diagnosis with every new treatment you help fund. Your gift changes lives, inspires hope, and helps create a future without cancer. Join us!
We invite you to register for a fundraising page and ask your friends and family to donate to your Pink Park City fundraising page where 100% of the donations go to fund cancer research.
You can also choose to make a gift in honor of a loved one by making a symbolic gift. When making a symbolic gift, you have the option to send an e-card to the individual in whose honor you made the gift.
The first pink ski day started at Vail Mountain in 2012. Pink Vail started as a fundraising event to support breast cancer, specifically, but has since grown to support all patients at Shaw Cancer Center in Vail, Colorado.
Pink Park City was started in 2018 and supports research for ALL types of cancer by raising money for Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. Participants and donors even have the opportunity to restrict their funds to support research for a specific type of cancer. In year two, participation doubled, and so did the team and fundraising support. Now in our third year, Pink Park City has raised over $250,000, and we aim to double again by raising $300,000 and plan to host 1,000 participants in pink in March 2021.
WHY SUPPORT HUNTSMAN CANCER INSTITUTE
With management of the Utah Population Database (UPDB), Huntsman Cancer Institute houses the world’s largest repository of health and genealogic records in the world. More genetic mutations for inherited cancers have been discovered at Huntsman Cancer Institute than anywhere else in the world. The genes for breast, ovarian, melanoma, head and neck cancer, colon cancer, and more, were all discovered here.
By funding efforts to better understand the beginnings of cancer and more effectively treat cancer, you help relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors, and their families when you give. Cancer patients, caregivers, and donors are encouraged to come together in a myriad of ways to fight cancer individually and collectively through fundraising programs and events like Pink Park City.
