FAQ

We have answers to all your questions! If you can’t find the answers here please email [email protected] or give us a call at 801.584.5815.

What does it mean to have a “Virtual” Pink Park City?

Our top priority is the health and safety of our participants, staff, and volunteers. Although we cannot physically be together in March 2022, the dollars we raise through Pink Park City are more important than ever! A virtual event means the Pink Park City community can still celebrate the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) by spreading the word and making donations through different means. This year participants, donors, and fundraisers can support the mission of HCI in two different ways!

1. Create a fundraising page, free of charge, to share with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to collect donations and raise funds for the mission of HCI. Just click "Register" above.

2. Make a gift. Every donation counts, so click the "Donate" button above to make a gift.

Will there be any in-person events for 2022?

No. Our top priority is the health and safety of our participants, staff, and volunteers. A virtual giving campaign means our community can still celebrate the mission of the usual event by spreading the word and making a donation in honor of a loved one. We look forward to celebrating alongside you in 2023.

Is this a breast cancer fundraiser?

Not just! Vail Mountain hosted the first pink ski day in 2012. Pink Vail started as a fundraising event to support breast cancer specifically, but grew to support all patients at Shaw Cancer Center in Vail, Colorado. Pink Park City was started in 2018 and supports ALL types of cancer by raising money for Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.

How much does it cost to be a virtual participant?

Free! There is no registration fee to be a virtual participant. Participants are encouraged to help raise funds through their personal fundraising page. We recommend that everyone set a goal of raising $500.

What can I do as a virtual participant? Do I have to ski/snowboard?

No. Do Pink Park City your way! Ski, snowboard, hike, or après all day! It’s up to you! Register for free today.

Where does the money go?

One hundred percent of all funds raised go to support the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. By funding efforts to better understand the beginnings of cancer and more effectively treat cancer, you help relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors, and their families when you give. Cancer patients, caregivers, and donors are encouraged to come together in a myriad of ways to fight cancer individually and collectively through fundraising programs and events like Pink Park City.

How do I raise funds?

A personal fundraising page is created when you sign up for Pink Park City, and it’s a great tool to track donations and progress towards your goal. Visit our FUNDRAISER TOOLKIT for tips and ideas that have helped other fundraisers.

Are gifts made through my fundraising page tax deductible?

Yes, Huntsman Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. All donors will receive an emailed receipt at the time of their gift.
