THE MISSION
Help create a cancer-free future, all because you spent a day on the mountain.

About Huntsman Cancer Institute
Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah is a nationally recognized research center and treatment hospital in Salt Lake City. We serve patients with all types of cancer, and they come from throughout the Mountain West, including Utah and parts of Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming. Along with our four locations in Utah, mobile cancer-screening service, telemedicine, and our Huntsman at Home™ program, we partner with a network of regional affiliate hospitals in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. These hospitals work with our experts to provide specialty cancer care to their patients.
Our doctors and scientists include world-renowned experts who are dedicated to the highest-quality standards and driven by the commitment to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
By funding efforts to better understand the beginnings of cancer and more effectively treat cancer, you help relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Cancer patients, caregivers, and donors are encouraged to come together in a myriad of ways to fight cancer individually and collectively through fundraising programs and events.
Why Support Huntsman Cancer Institute
With management of the Utah Population Database (UPDB), HCI houses the world’s largest repository of health and genealogic records in the world. More genes for inherited cancers have been discovered at HCI than at any other cancer center. These include genes responsible for breast, ovarian, colon, head and neck cancers, melanoma, and more.
We stand on the precipice of breakthroughs that will radically change cancer treatment and eventually prevent cancer altogether. HCI researchers and doctors are at the forefront of discoveries concerning the genetic risks of cancer and the best ways to treat and prevent it.
The sole purpose of Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) is to raise funds to support the mission of HCI. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Jon M. Huntsman Family, 100% of funds raised at Park City PowderFest further lifesaving research, treatment, and education at HCI.
