As a fundraising Huntsman Hero, you receive exclusive access to our training program! Coaches create a weekly schedule and map out local training routes to make sure you are confident and ready for event day. You don't have to attend the training to be part of the team, but we'd love for you to be there! You can still be part of the team and communicate with the coaches if it's tough for you to make it to the local training sessions.
Running: Each year, from November to May, our running team meets on Saturday mornings to train together. We have multiple coaches to help you get ready for your event. Routes are marked, and as the training runs get longer, we will have aid stations staffed by smiling volunteers. Our team is ideal for runners of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner, you've only done 5K runs, you've never been a runner, or you only want to walk, there is a place on our team for you. We're all about enjoying the race, getting to the finish line healthy and strong, and making a difference.
Cycling: Each spring, beginning in March, our cycling team meets on Saturday mornings for distance training rides and on Tuesday evenings for technical training rides. We have multiple coaches to help you get ready for whatever distance you want to ride. The coaches will share the routes in the days leading up to the training session through a weekly Huntsman Heroes email. As the training rides get longer, we’ll have aid stations and support and gear (SAG) vehicles along the way. Our team is ideal for riders of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned rider or have never cycled before, there is a place on our team for you. We're all about enjoying the race and making a difference for Huntsman Cancer Institute.
