This June 14, I’m riding 140 miles in the Huntsman SportsFest to help fund life-saving cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute — and I’m doing it with a goal: raise $333.33. 

Why $3.33, $33, or $333? Because “3” means something to me this year:

• Triple Crank: This is the first of three massive rides I’ll tackle this season — Huntsman (140 miles), Iron Lung (100), and LoToJa (200+). One ride would be enough, but three? That’s how you make a statement.
• Three friends: Our cycling team started with just the three of us doing LoToJa as a relay. This year, we’re riding the whole 200+ miles together.
• 3 goes on forever: Just like cancer research should. When you divide 100 by 3, you get a repeating decimal — a reminder that the effort to beat cancer never stops, and neither will we.
