What is my commitment if I become a Huntsman Hero for Little Red?

When you sign up as a Huntsman Hero for one of our partner events—including Little Red—you commit to a fundraising minimum of $500 for breast and gynecologic cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Your fundraising needs to be completed prior to event day to be eligible to ride in the event. This is part of our commitment and partnership with Little Red.

Need help or have fundraising questions? Email Ashley Ryan at [email protected]

NOTE: Little Red is organized and put on by Bonneville Cycling Club. Huntsman Cancer Foundation partners with this event, and several others, to have exclusive spots and benefits for our Huntsman Hero fundraising team members.

How do I choose my distance? It isn't listed during your registration process.

Our registration covers all information for our Huntsman Heroes team, including your fundraising page, jersey and t-shirt sizes, and contact information. NEW THIS YEAR: An email will be sent to you within a few weeks directly from Bonneville Cycling Club/Active Network (Little Red's new event management system) with special instructions on how to register in their system as a Huntsman Hero and waive the race registration fee. This step is required to participate. Please watch for those details. Registration in the Active Network system much be completed by March 31, 2025 to be eligible to ride.

What is the VIP party after the race?

The VIP party is a celebration for YOU! As a thank-you for fundraising, after you complete your event, we provide a gathering place with food, cold drinks, massages, and lots of FUN! The Huntsman Heroes VIP tent is generally located near the finish line at your event.

Where does the money go?

One hundred percent of all funds raised through Little Red support breast and gynecologic cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. By funding efforts to better understand the beginnings of cancer and more effectively treat cancer, you help relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Cancer patients, caregivers, and donors are encouraged to come together in a myriad of ways to fight cancer individually and collectively through fundraising programs like Huntsman Heroes.

What are the incentive items for fundraising?

The best incentive is getting the world closer to a cancer-free future. To add a little more fun to the mix, check out these incentives:

  • Raise $500 and receive a Huntsman Heroes team jersey, team t-shirt, and an invite to our end-of-year celebration
  • Raise $1,000 and receive a Huntsman Heroes team jacket or cycling bibs

Are gifts tax deductible when made through my fundraising page?

Yes. Huntsman Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. All gifts made through your individual or team fundraising page, or sent directly to Huntsman Cancer Foundation on your behalf, are tax deductible. Donors will receive an emailed or mailed receipt at the time of their gift.

Gifts made through a third-party donation platform (example: using Facebook's fundraising platform instead of sharing your official Huntsman Cancer Foundation fundraising page) are unable to be receipted by the foundation.

Can donations be mailed to Huntsman Cancer Foundation and still be credited to my fundraising page?

Yes! Checks can be mailed to our office, where our events team will add them to your fundraising page. Checks should be written to Huntsman Cancer Foundation, with your name and event written in the memo line or on an attached note.
