Witnessing my best friend endure four years of emotional turmoil as his mother battled against breast cancer, and growing up watching my grandfather battle lung cancer—enduring countless procedures only to never fully recover even after defeating it—has instilled in me a profound hatred for this disease. To me, cancer is more than just an illness; it’s a relentless force that spares no one, impacting not only those diagnosed but also everyone around them.
