My Sigma Chi Pledge Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page to help me and my pledge class raise money for women’s cancer research, treatment, and wellness at Huntsman Cancer Institute. I am excited to join in thousands of Sigma Chi’s across North America, all uniting together to be “The Generation to End Cancer,” by supporting the life-saving work of researchers at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Cancer has affected us all, and I am making the commitment to bring hope to patients and their families by fundraising and doing my part to help eradicate cancer from the earth.
In my own personal experience I lost my full of life grandmother to stage 4 terminal pancreatic cancer. She taught me how to truly live life to the fullest and I wouldn't be who I am today without her. She has been my drive to not only joining Sigma Chi, but putting an end to cancer as well.
One year ago I lost the man who taught me how to be a man. My step dad Scott. He had been diagnosed with stage 4 pleomorphic sarcoma. This is a type of cancer that would spread to any and all soft tissue in the body. Watching him try different treatments and suffer the devastating affects of cancer pushed me to want to support cancer research. I want to end this terrible disease so that no family ever has to go through the pain in which I have gone through.
Please consider helping me reach our goal by donating to this page – 100% of every donation is being used to fund cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Because of you others can continue to have hope in their fight against cancer
About Huntsman Cancer Institute
Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) is a leader in the study of cancer genetics and its researchers have discovered more inherited cancer genes than any other cancer center in the world. Genes responsible for breast and ovarian cancer, colon cancer, head and neck cancer, and melanoma were identified here.
All cancer treatments used today began with research. Learn more about research taking place at HCI by visiting huntsmancancer.org.
